Spring News Update
Now that Spring is definitely here and the 2014 flying season is underway, we continue full power ahead with preparations for the 9th Annual Cessnas 2 Oshkosh Mass Arrival into EAA AirVenture - Oshkosh.

The LOA
The Letter of Agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Cessnas 2 Oshkosh (C2O) is in place, we are officially a go! John Frank, Founder and President of the Cessna Pilots Association, represented us before the FAA at signing. As usual, there are no significant changes in this year's LOA. We encourage all of of our pilots to download and print the LOA, and become very familiar with the procedures described in it, and remember, we are required to have it in the cockpit with us during the mass arrival flight into Oshkosh. It is available for download from the Important Documents section of our Training Page.

The NOTAM
The FAA has published the EAA AirVenture - Oshkosh 2014 NOTAM. This notice describes the special flight procedures effective from 6:00 AM CDT on July 25th to Noon CDT on August 4, 2014. We encourage all of of our pilots to become very familiar with the procedures described in the NOTAM and remember to take it with you in the cockpit during the mass arrival flight into Oshkosh.
Changes for 2014 include:
  • TFR's expected Friday-Sunday, August 1-3
  • Airshow times changed on Sunday, August 3
  • OSH closed runway renamed as RWY 5/23
  • Fond du Lac ATIS frequency changed to 121.1
Click here to download. You will need Adobe or Foxit Reader to open this document.
You may order a copy from the EAA Membership Services at 800-564-6322 or you may download it from multiple sites including the Important Documents section of our Training Page. We will make available a limited number of copies of the NOTAM during our stay in Juneau.

Through the efforts of Rodney Swanson, our Director of Training and Operations, we have secured the generous sponsorship of Aspen Avionics. Aspen Avionics has been a generous contributor to Cessnas 2 Oshkosh since our beginnings providing the popcorn machine and supplies for our movie nights and door prizes to be given away during our annual bbq dinner. This year Aspen Avionics is stepping up their contribution. Look for the Aspen Logo embroidered on our shirts.

CAPT. MIKE JESCH MASTER CFI
Our own Mike Jesch has earned the FAA-approved Master Certificated Flight Instructor (Master CFI) accreditation. Of the 96,000 CFIs in the United States, fewer than 700 have achieved the prestigious Master CFI distinction. Congratulations to Mike for this well-deserved recognition.

Keep Up The Good Work Texas and Washington!

Call for Sponsors
Every year we face increasing costs that must be met in order to have a successful mass arrival and fun week at Cessna Base Camp in July. Some of the costs are covered by the registration fee, but certainly not all.

We receive monetary contributions from friends and fellow pilots to cover some of our expenses and donations from sponsors in the form of prizes to be given away during our annual BBQ Dinner at Cessna Base Camp. We ask you to consider make a financial contribution.

If you are able to help, please contact us via phone, email or through our website. Our contact information is on our Contact Us page.

Or, you may contribute right now by clicking on the button below:

We are deeply grateful to those who have donated through the years. Your generosity has made it possible to grow and improve this event.

Thanks!
