Foxtrot-3, Dick Low on his way to Oshkosh during the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh 2009 Mass Arrival.

A Message from Rodney
We would like to thank you for the overwhelming response to this Cessnas 2 Oshkosh registration opening. As the progress report that follows indicates, we currently have twenty-nine (29) registrants representing seventeen (17) states and one Canadian province. We are very happy with the interest so far, and we are looking forward to a safe and enjoyable arrival into EAA AirVenture Oshkosh - The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.

After last year's successful arrival, we are maintaining most all of the procedures and making just a few minor changes. We were concerned about the crosswind during last year's departure and arrival, so we are going to implement a change in our weather decision process. We will be prepared to depart from either runway at Juneau and land on any of the four runways at Oshkosh. Even though every one of you performed magnificently with some less than favorable winds, we don't want to expose you to any unnecessary risk.

We have also developed a software tool that will be used to assign your flight position in a more timely manner. This will allow more time for each of you to become more familiar with your fellow element members. We appreciate all your suggestions.

This year we continue to have Cessna Pilots Association as our partner. This will be our third year together and we appreciate all that John Frank and his staff do for us to make this arrival a flawless operation.

We are happy to have Cessna-Textron with us again. Those of you with us last year will remember the "swag bags" that Cessna provided when we pulled into parking. Cessna will have a larger presence this year helping us celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Cessna 210. We eagerly anticipate seeing them again.

We made what seemed a small, but very popular change last year during the breakfast at Base Camp. Steve and Debbie Holmes, and Nathan and Christa Houser volunteered to host two of our breakfasts and the turnout was incredible. We are always looking for people to help out, so if you have any ideas for an easy breakfast, please contact one of us!

We have just over 5 months to go until we meet in Juneau and our clinics will begin with the Southern California clinic in March. Please go to our homepage and print off a copy or two of the flyer and drop them off at an airport that you visit.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Juneau!
